Excursions, Nude Beaches, Brookhaven National Lab

I and my colleagues from the company Plath in Hamburg went on a cruise along the Rhine and after seeing the umpteenth castle we went from saying how beautiful, when we set out, to not another fxxxxng Castle.

An excursion I went on alone was to the island of Sylt, one of the North Frisian islands in the North sea, in Germany. At the time it was, unlike now, not often visited. I walked along the beach until I came to a little man with a cap and a whistle and nothing else. He said this is a nude beach. So I thought what the hell and took my clothes off. I soon realized why most of the inhabitants of the beach were behind screens. The wind blew up the sand and you were sand blasted. I dug a hole so at the least the sensitive bits were out of the wind. The little man blew his whistle when the sun went in which meant you could put clothes on and again when the sun came out to say you must take them off again.

Another time he blew the whistle was to scare off the voyeurs looking over the hedge.

When I worked at the Brookhaven National Lab on long island we would walk along to the nude beach on fire island. You were allowed to walk on this beach clothed. When we passed the nude area we said to our son, who was twelve, we will take off our clothes now. To which he went into a panic saying no no no.

One of my friends in Hamburg had a birthday and so she said she wanted to go to a pub around the harbour and have a drink called Ratzeputz. This is made of distilled xxx and is so fiery it is enough to blow your head off. She ordered the drinks and told the bar man to turn the water off which he refused to do. We just survived the drink but no one had seconds.
